Sponsors and Sponsorships

When your members ask:

"How are you going to help us with HIPAA?"

what will you tell them?

When your association board asks:

"How are you going to staff and pay for the Association’s HIPAA project?"

what will you tell them?

HIPAA Privacy WorkGroups were designed by a former association executive, keeping in mind the needs of both providers and their associations.  Aside from the obvious benefit to the participating members, the real value in WorkGroups is that they are an extremely convenient answer to each of these questions.

Rather than the delay, difficulty and uncertainty of having to design a program "from scratch", an association can quickly and confidently make this comprehensive, cost-effective program available to its members.  Just as importantly, by sponsoring WorkGroups, the association can avoid unnecessary staff time and effort in design and implementation, and can actually receive a significant marketing/administrative fee.  In the end, everyone wins.

What are the benefits of Sponsoring the WorkGroups program? There are a number of advantages to WorkGroups sponsorship. Aside from the convenience and efficiency discussed above, some of the very tangible benefits include:

Sponsors are paid an administrative and marketing fee of 10% of WorkGroups membership fees paid by their members.

An additional 20% is also set aside for Sponsors to pass on to their members as a discount, to retain as an additional administrative/marketing fee, or to divide in any way they chose.

WorkGroups also provides regular updates and articles on HIPAA to Sponsors for their general membership publications.

What are Sponsors required to do? A Sponsor is not required to make any cash contribution or pay any dues. Aside from allowing us to use its name as a sponsor, there is relatively little which is required:

- Do initial mailing of brochures that are provide

- Assist in member verification

- Run prepared ads and news in regular mailings and periodicals as provided and appropriate

- Answer questions and provide information to members upon request

- Provide link to the WorkGroup's website on the Sponsor’s web page

What is a "Master Sponsor"? Many associations have affiliations and relationships with other associations.  Similarly, association executives have colleagues and peers, both in other associations in their area and among similar associations in other areas.  A Master Sponsor helps identify and assists in the development of WorkGroup programs with those associations.

Typically, Master Sponsors receive additional percentage compensation which they can also use to defray the cost of WorkGroups to their members or use as non-dues income for other association projects.
